MOC Night

The Calgary Chinook Centre LEGO® Store hosted an MOC (My Own Creation) Night on October 26, 2013. Several people of various ages, including the Calgary LEGO® Train Club, showcased their own creations within the Store. It was a great opportunity to meet with people shopping in the store, sharing different building techniques and our favourite sets ;-).

Included are Dobby, the life sized LEGO® doberman pincher dog (by Eric Maccallum) and the 1880’s Calgary CPR railway station and the Baldwin 4-4-0 steam engine with functioning steam push rods(by Rudy Boonstra).

2013 Heritage Park Railway Days

The members of the Calgary LEGO® Train Club, with a little help from our friends in Edmonton (Northern Alberta LEGO® Users Group), put on an outstanding show at Heritage Park to celebrate Railway Days.

The layout was exclusively Digital Command Control (DCC), allowing for the several locomotives to run independently on the same track at the same time (the show record was six trains at the same time – one on each of the small inner loops and four on the large outer loop).

Pictures can be found on the Calgary LEGO® Train Club photo page:

Thanks again to Heritage Park for hosting us and to the many people who visited our booth and gave us encouraging comments / feedback.
